Best Management Practices

A large part of the educational program focuses on best management practices (BMP) awareness. ARP teaches the public what to look for and what to do if someone encounters vermiculite in their yard or vermiculite containing insulation within the house.

ARP staff makes site visits to schools, construction sites, and homes to help the public manage LA contamination. ARP developed brochures that contain BMP and information about reducing exposure, working in exterior and interior conditions, demolition activities, recommended steps for do-it-yourself projects, yard work and gardening.
